Microsoft has published it Windows 10 Roadmap revealing the upcoming features of the operating system. The release also reveals the planned release month of the Windows release.
Microsoft plans to release the Anniversary Update of Windows 10 in July 2016.
Upcoming features of Windows 10
The list of features you find on the company page is interesting both from the user and the manager side.
Enterprise Data Protection: Designed to help prevent business data leaks, even from devices used by employees. The feature will come in three ways of protecting: block, which analyzes the action and prevents employees from completing actions that can lead to data leakage, override or bypass, which only alerts employees, and silent, which logs logs but it does not block or warn.
multi-factor authentication for apps and websites: With Windows Hello or Microsoft Passport, you can sign in to an application or a website.
Microsoft Edge - Extensions: Yes, the extensions come to Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft Edge - Pinning Tabs: Option to make pin tabs in the company's web browser.
These features already exist in builds released by Windows Insider.
In development
These features are currently in progress and are not available in public builds.
Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection: A new service that will help businesses respond to "advanced attacks" on their networks.
Improvements to Microsoft Passport: Unclear how these improvements will be.
Use your phone to unlock your Windows PC: Use your Windows or Android phone to unlock Windows 10 computers.
Use Companion to unlock Windows PC: Use devices like Microsoft Band 2 and Microsoft Passport for a basic check ID cards. It can also work as two-factor authentication to unlock Windows 10 PCs.
Touch screen support: Touch input support when a Continuum-compatible phone is connected to a device that is connected to a touch screen.
Laptop as a support accessory: Support for new notebook-like accessories but no processor or operating system. Designed for use with Continuum-compatible phones.
Projecting on PCs: Phones that support Continuum-support will be able to connect to standalone monitors or screens as well as Windows 10 computers.
Microsoft Edge - Web Alerts: Web Edge Alerts for Microsoft Edge.
PC to PC casting: Speak from one PC to the other.
Windows Ink: New improved support for pen and touch-enabled devices.
Cortana and Action Center Integration: promotes them alerts of Cortana in the Action Center.
Remote screen: the IoT feature that will provide you with options to connect devices without monitors remotely to monitor devices.
Start Menu updates: Improvements to the boot menu that make it easier to access all applications, as well as improved tactile input support.
Picture in Picture: Watch content using the new mode from image to image.
Enhancements to Azure AD Join: for the time being.
