Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT: the first USB to 2TB

Kingston DataTraveler GT: Although laptops stole the show at this year's CES in Las Vegas, Kingston was the one that showed off something truly amazing. So the company unveiled what appears to be claiming the title of the first 2TB USB.

It's called the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT (Generation ). The new device has a larger capacity than many of our hard drives and the truly incredible thing is that the manufacturing company managed to offer such a capacity in such a small space. Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT

The dimensions of Kingston's new USB are only 72x26.94x21mm (yes we are talking about millimeters) and it is almost impossible to lose data due to shock as the company protects the device in a specially designed metal from zinc-alloy.

The new USB will be released in different capacities, of 1 and 2TB, but, for now, the company has not announced the prices they will have when they are released on the market. According to the company, the availability of the devices will start next month, so we will know more details soon.

"Power users will be able to store huge amounts of data, such as up to 70 hours of 4K video on a single 2TB disk. The DataTraveler Ultimate GT offers superior quality with a high-end design as it is made of a zinc-aluminum metal housing for impact resistance. "Its compact size gives professionals an easy, high-capacity portable solution for storing and transferring files," says Kingston.

As far as the technical features are concerned, there is not much to say about the new USB, except that it supports USB 3.1 speeds and can operate from -25 to 60 degrees Celsius.
