A company representative sent Lenovo's response to our article: “Appliance from China? Pre-installed malware on Android devices".
We quote the company statement:
“We are actively coordinating with G DATA – an online security research company – to learn all the details about their investigation into the malware software. Through this process, we came to know that G DATA analyzed a particular cell phone, which had been purchased from a third party.

The malicious software, which was detected by G DATA, not was pre-installed on the firmware of the Lenovo device, as was the case with mobiles from other industries mentioned in the G DATA report.
"Lenovo advises customers to trade through authorized distribution channels and to accept goods that are in their original packaging with the original factory seal and when making a purchase to make sure that the device meets the manufacturer's safety standards."
