How does the Lexus hoverboard work?

The previous Lexus presented a video Wednesday which displays a "real" – that is, a skateboard that can hover above the ground, just like in Robert Zemeckis' legendary film “Back to the Future Part II.”

But how could Slide (which is the name given by the company to the hoverboard) that we see in the video? hoverboard 21

Η such a hoverboard is most likely to rely on magnetism, which means it will only work over a metal surface. But let's see what happened.

The Spanish web El Patín revealed the location of the skatepark where the video was shot. It is located in Cubelles, a village near Barcelona.

The construction of the park, according to El Patín, began about a month ago, and the space is kept 24 hours a day.

The surface of the track is indeed metallic, but is covered with very thin wooden planks. The hoverboard of course uses magnets that must be cooled with liquid nitrogen, hence the smoke that comes out of the "vehicle" and is shown in the video.

When the skatepark is completed, it will probably be used for a hoverboard show starring skateboarder Ross McGouran.

Hopefully, Lexus will open the track for the public after its plans, and after having built a fully functional hoverboard for sports fans. In years 2015 everything is possible, as it turns out.

Check out the video you already know and the photos of El Patín showing the track.
