Continue to speak during the shoot
Nobody wants a photographer who has drunk the untroubled water. Maybe a shy person. Break the ice, say some jokes, congratulate your shy models every time they make a nice pose or look for you behind the camera.
With such an attitude you will definitely make them feel much more comfortable, and so you will get better results.
