Lightweight laptop or "hybrid" machines and without cables

Extremely thin and lightweight laptop or "hybrids" eyes, which will have a very long autonomy, will not need any cables to work and will "understand" the gestures of their user.

TABLET-NOTEBOOK

This is the future for PCs for several electronics companies, as shown by the original models and technologies they presented a few days ago in Taipei and Computex, the largest annual technology exhibition in Asia.

All of these companies are betting on the fact that, despite the increasing popularity of tablets, several σε όλο τον κόσμο θα εξακολουθήσουν να χρειάζονται τις δυνατότητες και τις επιδόσεις που δίνει ένα , και τις οποίες δεν μπορεί να προσφέρει καμία ταμπλέτα.

Earlier than 2018, and more specifically at the end of this year, it is expected to launch commercial PCs with Intel's fifth-generation "Broadway" PCs, which will be impressively thin, since they will be cooled without a fan. An illustrative example of the 12,5 inch "hybrid" Transformer Book T300 Chi that Asus showed in the report - which has a thickness of just 7,2 millimeters when detached from its keyboard, and 14,3 millimeters with the keyboard. The same thickness and screen size has the Llama Mountain prototype that Intel has presented to Computex, also with Broadwell processor, weighing only just 670 grams.

According to the US company, the benefits of the new "generation" CPU do not stop here, since they are combined with exceptional speed and very low power consumption. Indeed, in the case of Llama Mountain, Intel further exploited Broadwell's small energy demands by "twisting" two batteries on the computer screen. Thus, little or no, this particular model has "brutal" autonomy, touching 32 hours.

The company said the first fully wireless models are expected to be 2016, incorporating technologies that will allow them to communicate with any kind of peripheral via electromagnetic waves. Wireless will also charge their batteries, eliminating in this case the need for a cable. The technology is called Rezence and is being developed by Alliance 4 Wireless Power (A4WP), a consortium including giants such as Dell, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Logitech, Panasonic, Asus, Logitech and Toshiba.

A4WP has recently developed technology to meet the energy needs of not only small gadgets but also laptops. Indeed, Computex made the first demonstration of Rezence's capabilities, hosting a wooden table at its stand, which loaded at the same time a laptop, a mobile phone and a pair of headphones. The "wireless socket" was a base placed beneath the table, which could carry energy to the devices, though there was wood of 5 centimeters thick.

However, AMD has also chosen AMD to give an insight into the ability of PCs with Kaveri's new processors to "see" the user's gestures through their camera - for example. to play games. The cameras developed by Intel, on the other hand, can, in addition to the gestures, perceive the face of their owner in three dimensions, making it more reliable to use the person to unlock the computer.

3 2 machines are working

The Transformer Book V consists of two parts, a 12,5-inch "hybrid" machine with a detachable keyboard and Windows 8.1, and a 5,5-inch Android smartphone. Its originality is that, in addition to using the two devices independently, it is possible to place the smartphone in a slot on the back of the machine's screen. In this case, the "hybrid" model "borrows" the operating system of the mobile phone, i.e. operating like a "tablet" or notebook with the Google platform.

Although with a less innovative design, the Taiwanese company has previously unveiled a model that combines the two functional ones, which however have never been marketed. As for Transformer Book V, Asus did not specify when it will be released and at what price. However, it seems to be one of the few major manufacturers that bets on the idea, since the other similar models presented in Computex came from less well-known Chinese manufacturers. Indeed, in an interview with the report, Dell spokesman Neil Hand ruled out any possibility that the US company would build a model that would both support the two functionalities, arguing that it would not have an impact on consumers.
