Linux The most difficult distributions for installation

Every Linux operating system uses the same kernel, so it's natural that they look somewhat similar. Of course there are functions (applications) that set them apart. For example, package managers differ between major distributions, and so does the way of each distribution.

To mention that although most Linux distributions today are easy to install, there are some that are difficult, perhaps because they are waiting for their computer to open and work…
Below we will see some distributions that their installation is very difficult. The following distributions do not do for everyone, or rather to say it better: if you do not have time to spend it better, do not worry. Linux

What makes a facility difficult?

In general, the fewer options a distribution has, the harder it is to install. Below we will see a list, in which we will not mention Debian or Arch. Yes I have heard that Debian is difficult to install because the drivers are not installed automatically…

Why install one of the following distributions?

Personally, for me, it was the challenge, curiosity and research, and of course the search for new knowledge.

Slackware

Like Debian (and unlike simpler Linux operating systems like Mint), during the installation process you are given the option to select package groups that you want to have by default, but also exclude other packages you don't need.

The result is that you may need to know what each pack is doing and why it is needed.
Another feature that makes Slackware a little more difficult is that you need to create disk space manually using the fdisk or cfdisk command-line tool.

However, you are given many basic command-line tools to configure Slackware since it does not use a GUI as it does Debian.

Did you have a hard time? Compared to the following Linux operating systems, installing Slackware is a "toy."

NuTyX

The NuTyX Linux operating system is designed for users who want flexibility and power. This in itself should bang you if you are interested in easier distribution.

Unlike Arch, which from a point on the installation has a rudimentary graphical environment, you need to install it with a command line tool, first to separate your hard drive, and then to install.

By finishing the process of installing NuTyX you will have a very basic system to build from scratch. But unlike Slackware, you will need to install all the other prethe ones you need from the command line.

Gentoo

Of course, Linux distribution known for its difficult installation could not be missing from the list.

Like NuTyX, you need to know a lot about your system and Linux in general, along with the right tools you can use for the settings. In short, there is no installer and everything is done from the command line or terminal.

With Gentoo Linux the choice is yours. You will build exactly the system you want, without actually building it from scratch. That's one of the reasons Google's Chrome OS is based on Gentoo.

It should be noted that Gentoo's documentation is excellent, whenever you run into a problem. The wikis that the distro has are very detailed, and there are a lot of them that they contain make them difficult to read.

But it is so, because in the distribution there are not many functions that are given in other Linux operating systems. Need multiple wiki pages for Gentoo manual options. For example, you can create your own kernel….

Linux From Scratch (LFS)

Linux From Scratch (LFS) is not an operating system in itself. It provides those who use it with a way to build their own operating system. We can call it more of a "design" used to build the base.

So the Linux From Scratch (LFS) project gives the reader every step to make his own operating system.

The end result is the same (?)

Visually at least. Do you prefer security, or watching movies and writing on Facebook? If you want the second one, read all the above στε you are in the wrong post.

It's important to note that regardless of the Linux operating system you choose to install, what matters is finding what suits you. Sure, there are benefits and disadvantages in distribution comparisons, but we always talk about Linux.

Choose what suits you best. Do you want to learn and experiment or want something more automated?

Anyway, everything is Linux.
