Jerry Bezencon has announced the release of Linux Lite 4.8, a new stable release of the novice user-friendly distribution of Project Ubuntu 18.04-based project Lite that uses the Xfce desktop:
“Linux Lite 4.8 final is available for download and installation. I take this opportunity to welcome all Windows 7 users who have come here to find a simple, fast and free alternative to Windows 7, which has reached the end of its life and no longer provides security updates.
Linux Lite can make the transition to an operating system system based on Linux easy, offering a complete office suite compatible with the Microsoft suite, and well-known software such as Firefox, Chrome, Teamviewer, VLC as well as complete system backup tools, but also a complete and easy-to-use manual help to guide you on your journey. It has Steam pre-installed so you can keep playing your Windows games.
Our desktop is designed just like Windows with a Start menu on the left, while on the right you'll find the volume options, network and calendar options, with known icons desktops that take you exactly where you want to go on your system.”
