Linux Lite 4.8: welcomes Windows 7 users

Jerry Bezencon has announced the release of Linux Lite 4.8, a new stable release of the novice user-friendly distribution of Project Ubuntu 18.04-based project Lite that uses the Xfce desktop:

Linux Lite

“Linux Lite 4.8 final is available for download and installation. I take this opportunity to welcome all Windows 7 users who have come here to find a simple, fast and free alternative to Windows 7 that has reached the end of its life and no longer provides security updates.

Linux Lite can make the transition to a Linux-based operating system easy by offering a full office suite compatible with the Microsoft suite, and well-known software such as Firefox, Chrome, Teamviewer, VLC, and full backup system tools, but also a complete and easy-to-use help manual to guide you on your journey. It has Steam pre-installed so you can continue playing Windows games.

Our desktop is designed just like in Windows with a Start menu on the left, while on the right you will find the volume options, network and calendar options, with familiar desktop icons that take you exactly where you want to go to your system. ”

browser: Firefox: 71.0 Quantum
Email: Thunderbird: 68.2.2
