Linux Mint 18.2: Clement Lefebvre announced the availability of the new Linux Mint 18.2. The new version, Linux Mint 18.2, is the latest version of the 18.x series and is based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
It will be backed up to 2021 and available in four flavors (Cinnamon, KDE, MATE and Xfce).
Linux Mint 18.2 comes with improvements to applications cross-desktop X-Apps με βελτιωμένες συντομεύσεις (short-cuts) στο πρόγραμμα αναπαρtreatmentXplayer video and line sorting in the Xed text editor.
The sign-in screen uses the LightDM running Slick greeter and includes support for HiPI.
The update administrator has been modified to help users find the ideal balance between security updates and system stability:
“The Update Manager has received many improvements. It still has the same mission and manages the same functions, but presents things slightly differently. Policies and level definitions have been improved to filter updates according to their level of impact on your operating system.

Caution:
Those of you looking to upgrade from the previous version will have to wait a little longer, as developer Clement Lefebvre has revealed that the route upgrades from Linux Mint 18.1 “Sarah” to Linux Mint 18.2 “Sonya” is not yet open.
The programmer said the update would be possible shortly after the official launch of the operating system and that it would publish a separate announcement on the project's website.
