The head of the Linux Mint project Clement Lefebvre announced today that the development of the upcoming Linux Mint 19 "Tara" operating system is now over. So the ISOs for all three versions of Linux Mint 19 are already available for download on official servers.
So if you want to install Linux Mint 19 "Tara" on your personal computer, you can download any version of the operating system you are interested in. Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon, Linux Mint 19 MATE or Mint 19 Xfce.
Linux Mint 19 “Tara” is based on Canonical's Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) operating system, and runs on Linux 4.15 kernel. It comes with the latest desktop environments: Cinnamon 3.8, MATE 1.20 and Xfce 4.12. Like Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, this version will be supported for five years until April 2023.
Linux Mint 19 brings a completely new Timeshift app for system backups, a brand new welcome screen, better HiDPI support, improved multi-monitor support, a new default theme with news icons (Mint-Y), additional fonts, as well as the USB format option to exFAT.
