Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia is a long-term support (LTS) version that will be supported until 2021. It comes with updated software and brings improvements and many new features to make your desktop experience more user-friendly.
Stable versions of Linux Mint 18.3 have now been released to distribution repositories. The official announcement has not been made yet, but below you can be the first to download the ISOs in flavors Cinnamon and Mate.
Linux Mint 18.3 comes with improvements to X-Apps cross-desktop applications with improved short-cuts in program Xplayer video playback and line sorting in the Xed text editor. The login screen uses LightDM which runs the Slick greeter and includes support for HiDPI.
The update manager has been greatly improved to help them users find their ideal balance between security updates and system stability:
“Update Manager received many improvements. She still has the same one Mission and manages the same functions, but presents things slightly differently. Policies and level definitions have been improved to filter updates according to their level of impact on your operating system.”
