Our acquaintance Sabu, a former LulzSec hacker, and the FBI's traitor was not finally convicted. The US District Court in South New York left him free on Tuesday when the judge adjourned him for a year with a suspension.
Sabu or Hector Xavier Monsegur has been accused of twelve felons for his role in the attacks on Sony Pictures, Nintendo's HB Gary, as well as other private companies, news agencies and government agencies during the summer of 2011. If he did not cooperate with the FBI, he would face a prison sentence of up to 26 years.
Judge Loretta Preska, who last year convicted him Jeremy Hammond at ten years in prison for hacking at Stratfor, he said the lenient sentence was the result of Monsegur's "truly special" assistance to authorities since his arrest on June 7, 2011.
