Do you remember the Magic Map Marauder from Harry Potter's books, which revealed the traces of the characters that circled in the classes and in the Hogwarts school halls?
A student from Cambridge has created one extension in Chrome called Marauder, which works similarly for your Facebook friends.

We all know that Facebook shares our location data with our friends, however, what some may not know is about the accuracy of the data and the ease of exporting these items from the instant messaging service.
Facebook usually encourages Messenger users to share it location them, enabling location sharing by default when users install it on an iOS or Android app.
The developer of the Marauder extension, Mr. Aran Khanna, informs us on his website that he is uploading a map to a Web Messenger environment and presents the data from the messages sent through Facebook Messenger with the location sharing enabled.
Of course, if you think that with this extension you can easily track all the data of your site and your friends, then you are wrong. The extension is able to map your location only for those cases where you have a conversation with your friends through Messenger and in addition you have site sharing enabled.
Additionally, the extension is unable to get your location when you have not used Messenger at all.
However, if you use it, you will be surprised to see just how accurate this location of your friends is, and how easily that information can be used.
Just click Facebook's Messeger and get a chat with your friends.
On the other hand, if you don't want to be tracked by your friends who use the extension in question, just keep your location data private, and generally disable sharing your location by tapping the icon with arrow in your Messenger, or simply go to your phone's settings and disable it altogether access of your location via Messenger
