Mark Zuckerberg: announced public debates on 2019

Its CEO Inc. Mark Zuckerberg said on Tuesday that he will hold a series of public discussions about the future of technology in society.

Zuckerberg announced his plan (which elsewhere) in a suspension on Facebook. He makes such posts every year after the New Year, mentioning his personal goals such as of Chinese and reading two books a month.

Every few weeks I will talk to leaders, experts and of our community from different sectors. I will listen to different opinions to keep it interesting. All will be public, either on my Facebook or Instagram pages or other media.

Recall that Facebook had a very difficult year last year, with revelations of scandals data leakage, and but also for the involvement of the platform to influence public opinion on of the USA. These revelations moved the interest of the Senate of the USA, but also of the polar scene of the whole world.

Last year, Mark Zuckerberg said he would fix many of the issues Facebook, such as the use of the platform to spread misinformation, political involvement, hate speech, racism, and its use by terrorist groups.

As part of these efforts, Facebook reportedly stepped up its incident control efforts, downloaded suspicious pages and accounts, and improved its systems for detecting fake accounts.

However, it still faces criticism from state regulators and lawmakers who say the measures are not enough.
