Mercedes-Benz engineers seem to have been quite busy. They recently teamed up with the famous surfer (for big waves) Garrett McNamara to create a surfboard. Another fancy trick marketing; Probably not.
The board was named "Silver Arrow of the Seas" and its equipment is something the surfing industry has never seen before.
The Mercedes-Benz team of engineers and designers teamed up with McNamara, the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest wave surfed in Nazaré, Portugal, to build a expensive vessel, high technology.
The project is not a simple page, since it offers an integrated telemetry system with a transmitter in McNamara's outfit, wirelessly surfing the surf. It is something Mercedes-Benz boasts, as it did not exist until today.
Each board has been customized to fit McNamara's exact specifications, i.e. his weight, height and surfing style. They were tested inside the Mercedes-Benz wind tunnel to simulate air resistance at high speeds. Their goal is optimization of the aerodynamics of the boat.
But look at it video
