Microsoft has just confirmed that it has bought the manufacturer company of the SwiftKey keyboard (Android and iOS devices) for a respectable amount of money. The company's goal, of course, is to integrate SwiftKey's Word Flow technology into the Windows Phone.
Microsoft does not mention more details, but rumors say it will spend a total of 250 million dollars to buy SwiftKey.
Harry Shum, Executive Vice President, Technology and Research, said all of the company's employees would join Microsoft in an effort to merge the two keyboard applications and create one that could work seamlessly on all devices.
"This acquisition is an excellent example of Microsoft's commitment to making software and services of her in all the platforms. We will continue to lead the development of the SwiftKey keyboard for Android and iOS, as well as explore scenarios for integrating its core technology across the breadth of our products and services,” Shum explains.
"In addition, SwiftKey's smart technology aligns with Microsoft's investment and ambition to develop smart systems that can work more on behalf of the user who has complete control over them."
