Microsoft: Android apps with ads

Microsoft, as it is known, develops its applications for mobile devices with Android and iPhone. The company seems to be experimenting with all sorts of ideas to increase the number of its users on these two platforms.

The latest example concerns Microsoft's Android apps, which have started showing ads in the Share menu in an attempt to convince to install other applications developed by Redmond developers.

Microsoft

Specifically, Android Police found that when you use a Microsoft application and try to share a , the Share menu that usually displays the icons of apps already installed on your device also includes shortcuts to other Android apps developed by Microsoft that you don't have installed.

If you tap one of these icons, which usually says to of the application (Install), directs you to the Google Play Store, where you can download and install the Microsoft application.

Ads are not necessarily annoying, as they are placed in the Share feature, but are filled with icons , especially if you use a few company applications.

The worst that can happen according with AP, is that more and more developers can follow in Microsoft's footsteps and start advertising their own applications from the Share menu.

If something like this starts to happen, share on Android will become very cumbersome as you will be trying to find the app you are interested in among many others.
