Microsoft has published a list of sessions of upcoming Build 2016, and it is quite obvious that cloud and IoT will be the big issues this year.
For those who have not watched the news Microsoft's annual Build developer conference will take place from March 30 to April 1 in San Francisco. Microsoft will stream all keynotes from the official Build 2016 website. All other sessions will be recorded and available for replaytreatment from the following week.
Let's go to this year's list of topics:
As expected, the development of gaming will be pioneering. Microsoft will provide developers with more guidance on how to develop better generic applications on the Windows Platform for Xbox.
There are several development sessions for the Universal Windows platform, with particular emphasis in the notifications, the Action Center and interactive Live Tiles. There is also a session – along with privately scheduled Holographic Academy seminars for those who have purchased the HoloLens development kit – for developing general-purpose Windows platform apps for HoloLens and Windows Store apps that Microsoft calls 2D apps.
Information will also be given on Azure's growing microservices development platform, which the company mentions as Azure Service Fabric.
Last year, Microsoft said we should wait for it Azure Service Fabric, to be opened up for Java and Linux development under Open Source Developer Services, which will bring the best of cutting-edge Open Source technologies to Azure. Who knows, we might hear more next week.
Other Issues of Build 2016:
How to develop Android, iOS, Linux, Mac and Windows applications with open source .NET
Develop applications that use smart services
The Windows Server 2016 Application Platform (with information on the Windows Server 2016 Software Development Kit, and perhaps even the Technical Preview 5, according to Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet)
Maybe some new offers VS / Xamrin bundles
