Many say that the new Microsoft is a completely new company under the leadership of the CEO Satya Nadella, as it appears to be friendlier and more cooperative with rival companies and platforms which the company did not cooperate with. They also report that the company seems to no longer care about the dirty tricks it used to increase its customer base (such as the case of Scroogled a campaign started by Steve Ballmer).
However, according to Salesforce CEO of Salesforce Marc Benioff, the new Microsoft is no different from the old Microsoft, as the company continues to use some challenging strategies for its rivals.
Benioff revealed one such episode that took place during Code Conference on Monday, explaining that he had been invited by Microsoft president John Thompson to a meeting with Microsoft cloud chief Scott Guthrie to discuss becoming an Azure customer.
But a few weeks after that, Benioff was informed by the press that Guthrie was promoted as the head of the CRM business, thus being a direct competitor of Salesforce.
Salesforce eventually became the customer of Amazon Web Services, which is a direct competitor to Microsoft Azure, and continues to fight against Microsoft, trying to block the acquisition of LinkedIn, on the grounds that Redmond could limit the access in data handled by the social service.
Salesforce has already contacted European regulators to block the agreement, but there is still a lot to be done.
Let us remind you that a few days ago, CEO of Kaspersky, filed a lawsuit about how Microsoft works, trying to exterminate any competitor.
