What makes this version special is that it is the first stable version of Edge for iOS with a single code base for all platforms. Several months ago, Microsoft promised to bring all versions of the Edge under one umbrella with a single build number.
This makes the development process much faster and easier, as developers no longer need to coden a single feature three times for different platforms (desktop, iOS and Android). This also helps Edge mobile keep up with the competition.
Android was the first platform for mobile released Microsoft Edge for all users in the Stable channel. On iOS, however, Microsoft needed much more time to test and refine features before officially releasing the browser app to the public.
