March 2023: The new PDF engine started rolling out to regular Edge users.
Early May 2024: Rollout to regular users is expected to be complete.
Midsummer 2024: Opt-in policy for managed devices also available.
Early 2025: The legacy PDF engine will be removed.
Users can access the new PDF engine by enabling the “New PDF Viewer” flag in the internal address edge://flags.
Those who prefer the old PDF reader can continue to use it for now. Either way, it will be removed for good in early 2025.
