Microsoft has just announced a series of changes that are supposed to boost its users' privacy. Changes concern simplified privacy settings in Windows 10, as well as a reduction in the amount of data collected by company customers.
First of all, Microsoft launched a new online privacy panel that allows users to view and manage their privacy data, such as record search, geographic location, and information that the digital assistant Cortana will receive to provide a more personal experience.

As for the changes coming to Windows 10, Microsoft has announced a new setting for users installing the new operating system. The new option replaces the previous ones Express settings presented during Windows 10 installation according to the company.
So those upgrading from Windows 7, Windows 8 or doing a fresh clean install should be able to see what Microsoft describes as “simple but important settings,” while those already running Windows 10 will be prompted to update their privacy settings with a notification.
These new settings will come with the upcoming Creators Update.
Telemetry settings in Windows 10 will be simplified from three different levels to two, namely Basic and Full. This means that the Enhanced level will no longer exist, and users who use it will need to change to Basic or Full after installing the Creators Update.
According to Microsoft, what is more important is that the base level will send much less telemetry data to servers the company's.
"This will include data that is critical to the operation of Windows. We use this data to keep Windows and applications secure, up-to-date, and blah blah blah, says Microsoft in announcement of new features.
