Windows 11 22H2, is the first major operating system update, and recently released for those in release preview Channel. Although the update has already reached RTM stage, we know that it will not be released for unsupported hardware as Microsoft continues to promote its processors and TPM 2.0.
In a rather unexpected move, Microsoft started offering Windows 11 22H2 on unsupported hardware, giving many a signal that it was willing to remove the hardware requirements.
In a statement, however, Microsoft clarified that it mistakenly made the latest operating system available to Appliances which do not meet the conditions it imposes.
Although the update seems to have been withdrawn, it still appears to those who have inappropriate hardware and there are many who can download it. If you see this update (Windows 11 22H2) and know that the device is not compatible, it is best to avoid it for now, according to Microsoft.
Microsoft claims that installing Windows 11 22H2 simply won't work on unsupported hardware unless you modify the settings of the registry. Of course, you can download the update and install it, but the update won't work on your device, as confirmed by Jen Gentleman of the Windows Insider program.
"We are investigating an issue for Insiders where the banner for the installation of Windows 11, version 22H2 appears on computers that are not suitable and we are working to fix it. The installation will lead to errors ".
Many users report the same, and there are others who have been able to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware without any problems.
As we mentioned above, Microsoft has already taken steps to prevent this particular update from appearing on devices that don't meet the requirements. If you see her on computer you better ignore the company notice.
