Microsoft replaces Surface Pro 2 tablets due to failed Firmware upgrade

Although the company released the problematic update to its firmware, and although it promised to release a new one after the holidays, some reveal in Microsoft forum that Redmond can very well replace your devices with a new one without many questions.

Although it is quite clear that all the problems are caused by the updated firmware and not from the devices themselves, it seems that Microsoft agrees to replace tablets running the new firmware !!!.

Report a user in the Microsoft forum:
“Hey friends .. and so I contacted Surface support via chat… They agreed to send me a FREE NEW Surface as a replacement. I made sure that the replacement would not be just a rebuild
Their eI explained the issue with the firmware and that I had already done everything to deal with it… as well as my concern about overheating ”

And immediately below a second user confirms: “I also did the same and sent the Pro 2 for exchange. "Hopefully they will send me a new tablet and not repair mine."

Microsoft has not provided more information about the new firmware upgrade, but will likely release a new one this month, as part of its monthly update every Tuesday.

Redmond promised to work on all Christmas holidays to develop the new firmware update, but there is no specific timetable to date. We are still waiting for more information from Microsoft, so we'll let you know when we get new information.
