Three Illinois residents have filed a lawsuit against Microsoft over data loss and damage to their computers during upgrade in Windows 10.
Have passed two years since Microsoft started suffocating its customers, for the upgrade to Windows 10. The complaints submitted this time concern this behavior of the company and appear to be well documented.
These specific charges blame Microsoft for wasting time for users, losing money, damaged software, hardware, and mental suffering for all this after upgrade to Windows 10.
At present 100 have been collected users of the operating system and are suing for more than $5 million in damages, excluding court costs and interest.
The chief complainant, Stephanie Watson, says she never chose to upgrade to Windows 10 and that when she happened she lost her job data. He then contacted Geek Squad to repair his computer. But the company could not solve the issue with "absolute success", so it bought another system.
Ο Robert Saiger says he accepted the upgrade, but claims he lost data, "time and money, and everything got worse when he tried to recover his data."
Howard Goldberg also approved the upgrade but said the "computer was damaged" as Windows 10 was not installed properly. Goldberg paid someone to repair his computer because it was out of warranty and he claims his lost data, time and money, but also his own computer.
The complaint alleges that Windows 10 is a consumer product under the laws of USA, and accuses Microsoft of being aware that the upgrade could cause data loss and hardware damage.
The complainants are aiming to demonstrate that the upgrade could cause data loss and hardware damage, and that Microsoft was aware of the potential incompatibility issues with software. They also want to prove that upgrading without warning, as they claim, has resulted in a violation of the terms of use.
