As reported in his publication , Nadella spoke of "one σύστημα, το οποίο καλύπτει όλα τα μεγέθη οθονών».

“We're going to normalize the next version of Windows, from three operating systems to a single operating system, for screens of all sizes,” he noted, adding that in the past “we've had multiple teams working on different versions of Windows. Now we have a team, with a common architecture. This allows us to operate at scale, creating Windows Apps'.

At the conference for in April, the company had announced tools for Universal Windows Apps, which allow developers to make their apps compatible with major versions of Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox.

As highlighted in the publication, the company will continue to sell different versions of its operating systems (for example Windows Pro, Windows et al.), however the similarities will be far greater than the differences, with Nadella promising unification of stores and platforms for commerce and developers.

The company reported a 7% drop in revenue in the second quarter of the year, to $ 4,6 billion, while in the same period last year it stood at 4,97. An important role in this seems to have been played by the acquisition of the Nokia device division, which, according to Microsoft, recorded losses of $ 692 million.
