Terry Myerson, head of Microsoft's OS division, confirmed today that July 29 is the Windows 10 release date, adding that anyone who buys a PC between now and the end of next month running Windows 8.1 retains the right free upgrades in the new operating system.
“On July 29, you can get Windows 10 for PCs and tablets by taking advantage of the free upgrade offer. If you buy a new one device with Windows 8.1, then you will be able to get the upgrade to Windows and more stores retailers will upgrade your new device for you,” says Myerson.
Early this morning, Microsoft started to show notifications to upgrade Windows 10 to computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed the values for Window 10, (we have only reports from Russian leaker Wzor) so it remains to be seen whether the information published by Newegg is accurate or not.
