H Mist.io is a new Greek startup, which started only in the Summer of 2013, and aims to help system administrators and developers in monitoring the servers που χειρίζονται σε δημόσια ή ιδιωτικά clouds από οπουδήποτε, χρησιμοποιώντας οποιαδήποτε συσκευή με πρόσβαση στο διαδίκτυο (laptop, smartphone ή tablet).
The original idea came from the need of the founders of Mist.io to use the new technologies (smartphones, tablets) στη διαχείριση και παρακολούθηση cloud servers μικρών και μεσαίων επιχειρήσεων. Με αυτό τον τρόπο θέλησαν να βοηθήσουν τους developers αλλά και τις μικρές εταιρίες που δεν έχουν τη δυνατότητα να απασχολούν administrators, με στόχο την αύξηση του χρόνου ζωής των server τους, από την μία, και, από την άλλη, τη μείωση των εξόδων τους. Έτσι, μετά από εντατικές συσκέψεις για να βρουν λύση, τον Μάιο του 2013 ξεκίνησε η πρώτη κλειστή δοκιμή (private beta). Σήμερα η καινοτόμος αυτή επιχείρηση απασχολεί συνολικά επτά άτομα σε μόνιμη base, while maintaining several external partners.
Στην διαδικασία σύστασης της εταιρείας συνέβαλε καταλυτικά το γεγονός ότι όλοι οι ιδρυτές είχαν συνεργαστεί ήδη στην Unweb.me κι έτσι η ιδέα γεννήθηκε και εξελίχθηκε συλλογικά. Βέβαια, δεν έλειψαν και τα problems στην πορεία σύστασης της Mist.io καθώς η γραφειοκρατία τόσο και στις δύο χώρες που δραστηριοποιείται η εταιρεία (Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, Ελλάδα) ήταν καθ' όλη την διάρκεια της διαδικασίας παρούσα. Η Mist.io έχει διεθνή προσανατολισμό καθώς μεγάλο μέρος των πελατών της προέρχονται από το εξωτερικό, εκεί που η διείσδυση των τεχνολογιών cloud είναι μεγαλύτερη από την αντίστοιχη ελληνική.
One of Mist.io's most rewarding moments was when 2013 was one of the Tech All Stars finalists in Berlin for Top-12 EU startups, a project organized by the European Commission. This success filled the suitcases of the Mist.io people with experience and knowledge, something that the company also received from co-habitation with other Greek startups at Collab Athens and iQbility.
According to CEO and co-founder of Mist.io, Christodoulos Psaltis, "The prospects for funding are good, both in the US and within the EU due to the increase in investment through Jeremie funds."

The next, equally important, step is to seek funding, either through European Union programs (information at http://ec.europa.eu/easme/sme_en.htm) or from other international Funds such as Openfund.
