According to CNET, this technique (Dunkable) is the same as that used in specially treated "hydrophobic" clothes. It is noted that F2i is the company behind the Motorola's Droid Waterproof Droid.

This particular technique has the advantage that it can cover all the parts of the mobile they have με το νερό – συμπεριλαμβανομένων των κυκλωμάτων που βρίσκονται στο εσωτερικό του.

However, as Natasha Hoskins, P2i's marketing manager told TechHive, users won't be able to "order" such an overlay for their phone themselves, as the company works directly with manufacturers to "import" of said layer of protection in during their construction. The release of the first devices with the P2i coating on the market is expected in 2014.
