NASA independent investigation into UFOs

NASA will conduct an independent investigation into the mysteries surrounding the unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and CNN he says:

The team will include experts in multiple disciplines (astrobiology, data science, oceanography, genetics, political and planetary science) as well as retired NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, former fighter pilot, test pilot and retired US Navy captain.

The space agency, which first announced it would form the team in June, revealed it will be led by astrophysicist David Sperge, who is president of the Simons Foundation in New York.

The new team won't necessarily seek to define exactly what UAPs are, which have been seen moving through the airspace in recent decades. Instead, the team will try to map out exactly how it's best for NASA to further approach studying the phenomenon.

The space agency has already reported that the limited number of UAP observations has made it very difficult to exp scientific conclusions about the nature of such events. "Without access to an extensive data set, it is almost impossible to verify or explain any observation, so the focus of the study is to inform NASA what possible could be collected in the future to scientifically discern the nature of UAPs,” states one Press release of NASA.

That study, expected to take about nine months, will be public.

"Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of who we are at NASA," Zurbuchen said Friday.

"Understanding the data we have around UAPs is very critical and will help us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our sky. Data is the language of scientists and makes the inexplicable explainable.”

Specifically, the team will look for data on "events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena - from a scientific point of view," the agency said.

The unknown aerial phenomena are interesting, from a point of view s but there is no indication that it is of extraterrestrial origin, NASA said in its initial announcement in June.
