The Android Police He discovered a small change to the battery saver mode with the latest beta, as when the mode is activated it dims the light on the wallpaper. In addition to this, icons on the home screen are highlighted with a new highlight effect. You can see an example above , with the left side being the normal display while the right side shows the battery saver mode.

This new feature appears automatically as battery saver mode is enabled in Android 14 Beta 3 and does not require the user to make any kind of settings changes.

No doubt Google is trying to squeeze a bit more battery life out of its Pixel devices. The change is noticeable, but it's more noticeable if you're using light wallpapers the. Of course, if you really want to save battery, you can always turn on the Extreme Battery Saver mode, but that will change the phone experience a lot.

This is a great addition to Android 14, and if you're interested in trying it out, you can always subscribe to the Android Beta Program or yes download and install the update manually.

Remember that Android 14 is still in beta, so you'll get early access to a lot of new features though , not everything will work properly. So if you plan to use it on a device meant for everyday use, think twice before updating.
