The new Windows 11 ends Cortana and does not require a USB for repairs

Microsoft has finally released a new build in the Canary Channel, and unlike previous builds, build 25905 brings quite a few new features.

Cortana

Let's look at the most notable changes, and one that stands out:

The long-promised 3D Fluent Emoji will be available in Windows 11. However, the app needs additional improvements, so expect more changes in future updates.

A built-in TPM troubleshooting: in build 25905, the Windows Security app (aka “built-in antivirus”) allows you to run diagnostics to identify and potentially fix problems with the Trusted Platform Module firmware, which is required for those using Windows 11 (on supported hardware).

System repair via Windows Update: you will now be able to ask Windows to download and reinstall the current version without changing anything in your apps, files, and settings. It will serve as a very handy troubleshooting tool for those who don't have a bootable USB for on-site repair.

Arm32 UWP apps are no longer supported: those using Windows 11 PCs with ARM processors should update their UWP apps before installing the latest Canary. All arm32 UWP apps will not open once the upgrade is complete.

Cortana is now user-removable: Windows 25905 version 11 allows Cortana to be uninstalled like any other app downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Right-click Cortana in the list of all apps and select Uninstall. Previously, removing Cortana required the of a terminal command.

The removal of Cortana marks a new era for Windows. The much-hyped digital assistant in 2023 looks pretty stupid and can now be removed in favor of the “smart” Bing GPT

Bing is now an AI search engine that uses OpenAI's GPT-4. The new era of Windows is here, only the source code still contains coma from Windows XP that was released about 20 years ago.
