Neptune is a desktop Linux distribution based on the Debian Stable, but has a newer kernel, additional drivers and newer versions of popular applications.
The project has released an update to its current version, Neptune 8. The new version 8.1 offers security brings, a newer kernel and an updated systemd package.
Some of the version 8.1 packages have also been updated:
“This version has more support for more modern hardware since it has the Linux Kernel 6.1.76 along with updates to proprietary firmware blobs. Neptune is now based on Debian 12.5 (“Bookworm”).
With the newly activated bookworm-backports repositories you can enjoy newer software updates for LibreOffice in version 7.4.7. Also updated the schedule tourChromium on version 122.0.6261 and Thunderbird on version 115.9. On the media front, VLC has received an update to version 3.0.20.”
