Η Netflix became a member of FAPAV, the largest anti-piracy team in Italy, and is responsible for banning hundreds of sites that distribute content illegally, without the permission of the producers.
Seria A, the professional football league in Italy, also joined the alliance with Netflix.
In a press release announcing the new members, FAPAV expresses its satisfaction with the results it has achieved in the fight against piracy, explaining that in 2019 it managed to exclude access in 400 illegal ones websites that had access to pirated content. This is a 230% increase compared to 2018, the group says, adding that it makes it the most active anti-piracy group in Europe.
In addition, FAPAV states that in 2020 the fight against illegal IPTV will be one of the main goals due to the new members who have joined the group.
Piracy, however, is not the only reason Netflix is losing money.

Fighting piracy globally is a long-term effort for Netflix that could eventually have more customers, which will significantly increase its monthly revenue.
The official ones data revealed in October said Netflix had 158,3 million subscribers worldwide, with forecasts calling for an increase of 7,6 million subscribers in the final quarter of 2019.
