Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is a good opportunity to introduce a new icon theme and there is a very interesting idea based on a pattern origami.
When designers begin to make original artwork for operating systems, they usually start from scratch or simply integrate the current trend in their work. Ubuntu designers have managed to produce something unique that does not follow the general trend and which is inspired by art.
In the Ubuntu 14.04 icon presentation held on duration of the Ubuntu Developer Summit, designer James Matthieu explained that they used origami logic to visualize the various icons.
"Το προεπιλεγμένο σχήμα των εικονιδίων είναι ένα φύλλο paper και χρησιμοποιείται η επίδραση του origami για να διατηρηθεί η συνοχή του ύφους του εικονιδίου της εφαρμογής" said James Matthieu during the presentation.

We hope this new icon theme will be approved because it looks very fresh and beautiful.
