Google could replace the brand name of the Nexus smartphone series with the name Pixel και Pixel XL, αναφέρει το Android Police, μετά από φήμες που εμφανίστηκαν νωρίτερα αυτή την εβδομάδα και αναφέρουν ότι η Google θα αφήσει την ονομασία Νexus.
Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are believed to be manufactured by HTC and that HTC will not have branding on the devices. Details of the Pixel and Pixel XL had leaked earlier but code-named Sailfish and Marlin.
Both devices could be unveiled at a Google event on October 4, along with the DayDream VR and a competitor Amazon Echo.
The Sailfish, or Pixel, is believed to be a 5-inch device with a rounded planning. The Marlin, or Pixel XL, is believed to be a 5,5-inch device. Internally, the devices will feature quad-core Qualcomm processors, 4GB of RAM, and cameras on the 12-megapixel. The Pixel XL will have a larger battery.
The Pixel and Pixel XL are expected to come with the announcement of Android 7.1, adding support VR for the DayDream platform. Google, meanwhile, hasn't said anything yet.
So it's unclear whether Google completely leaves the Nexus brand name.
