Her last rocket SpaceX exploded during tests at Cape Canaveral on Thursday. The rocket was scheduled to be launched next Saturday.
The rocket also had its Internet.org satellite Facebook which aimed to give internet access to rural and remote areas of Africa.
“SpaceX in preparation for the prototype launch conducted a static fire test today. There was an anomaly resulting in the loss of the vehicle and its payload. It was a typical one procedure, and there were no injuries,” SpaceX said in a statement.
Facebook for its part has not announced anything official about the loss of the AMOS-6 satellite.
Let's mention that Facebook cooperates with its Eutelsat Frances for renting space in space. The project will cost $95.000.000 over the next five years.
The AMOS-6 satellite could cover large parts of West, East and South Africa.
