At an event in Los Angeles on Monday, Nokia announced the Ozo VR camera, and its price: 60.000 dollars. The company also announced that it accepts pre-orders and that the cameras will begin shipping in the first quarter of 2016.
The camera first appeared in July, and is capable of shooting and transmitting live 3D and 360 degrees.
It has eight sensors image and an equal number of microphones, thus negating the need for editing shots. This allows real-time preview without having to submit the scenes to processing.
Of course, with this honor, Ozo does not seem to be directed to the general public, but to cinema studios. It is no accident that the new device was introduced in Los Angeles.
However Nokia intends to make it technology VR more accessible to the general public.
Ramzi Haidamus, president of Nokia Technologies, announced at The Verge:
We're going to make Ozo available for rent so that it's affordable, and of course we need to start thinking about how we can make it more accessible to professional consumers. Such a version should have a lower cost, and this is something we should start thinking about right away line partreatmentof the product.
You are going to be at the top of the pyramid with regard to quality. When a product is found there (free translation) it does not require bubbles. You can just take the device just the way it is, stick it somewhere, tap recording, and let it write.
Let's say the new Nokia camera has a serious advantage over its opponents. Real-time preview of scenes. Time will show that the device will become the world standard for 360 camera cameras.
