If you are not a fan of Windows 10 and you plan to buy a new computer with Windows 7 or 8.1 built in then you better hurry because Microsoft will stop on October 31 OEM sales of these operating systems.
After 31 October, Microsoft will focus exclusively on Microsoft Windows 10 and will no longer provide other resources to computer makers with the functional 7 and 8.1.
Of course, after the end of October, not all computers with Windows 7 pre-installed will magically disappear from store shelves because Microsoft will still allow sales of devices that were in stock before the deadline. Just that new machine it is manufactured from November 1st and after that it will only have 10.
Now, what is important to note is that this time is only for sales and does not have to do with updates. Window 7 and 8.1 will continue to receive updates until January of 2020 and January of 2023 respectively.
Window 10 will be the only version of Window that will be pre-installed on new computers, and Microsoft expects that this decision will help global adoption of the new operating system.
