Yes, you read that right: Opera 38 with free VPN! The new development version of proletterOpera browser has just been released for testing and it brings something really useful and unique. 
H desktop with its version browser Opera 38, has an important new feature, a free VPN service that allows the user to access the internet through a VPN connection with one click!
For those who do not know what VPN means, let's explain why it is so important.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) enables private connectivity by using tunneling protocols and encrypting traffic over a public network, such as Internet.
Traffic passes through another IP address which offers (almost) anonymity and security. Another important advantage is that if you encounter geographically limited content, you will be able to access it by connecting to the Internet with an IP that is not located in Greece.
So the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the government or some man in the middle can only see the VPN server you are connecting and nothing else.
To activate the new feature you need to open the settings. See the image below:
The browser option that will allow you to enable or disable VPN is located in the address bar.
Once the VPN is activated, the user can specify a virtual location from which to serve its virtual IP address.
This option may affect the speed of your connection. Depending on your current location, select a different server to cope with the slow connection speed. So try to change the server until you find one more suitable for you.
Opera 28 supports the following features in the free VPN service:
Hide the IP address. Opera will replace your IP address with a virtual address, making it harder to track your location and locate your computer. This means you can browse the web privately.
