700 + Euros spent the Greeks on their smartphones over the past seven years

As he reveals of SquareTrade, for the last seven years, these expenses have literally taken off, since the smartphones are now tools for daily and tough use.

Η SquareTrade, a leading company in the provision of electronic device protection contracts, with more than 10 million customers today announced the evidence of a survey that shows that the Greeks have paid 2007 to date, globally 701.064.735 euro to repair or replace damaged smartphones!

An impressive element is that 40% of Holders smartphones, have experienced a breakdown or destruction of their device over the past two years. Time to repair the damage was longer than 7 days for 30% of sufferers. If one considers that these devices are now a valuable and necessary "helper" in the fast pace of modern life, this it seems very painful.

Unfortunately, a damage is not always caused by the fault of the owner, since the 25% of accidents are caused by third parties and not by the owners themselves.

Some notable findings from SquareTrade's research show that:

  • 57% of smartphone accidents happen at home.
  • 15% of the owners forgot the device in the sky of the car.
  • Pet owners are 47% more prone to disaster.
  • 30% of damaged device owners are under 45 years.
  • Holders iPhone are 23% more prone to accidents in their device.

SquareTrade's recent research, the only one of its kind to have recorded data from the Greek market, shows that due to the often high costs required to repair damaged smartphones, many consumers often resort to "desperate" solutions. For example, 8% of owners in Greece use a broken device .
