Microsoft has published instructions on how λήψηand Linux installation. The Seattle-based proprietary operating system vendor has published a helpful guide titled “How to Download and Install Linux” or “How to download and install Linux,” causing mixed reactions from his friends free software.
Of course, it wouldn't be bad at all if we didn't know that the company is only for profit. However, we seem to be in a better phase since the time they called Linux a cancer.
For those who don't remember his relationship free software foundation (FSF) and the company, a time was quite tense. Microsoft seems to now recognize the importance of the FSF because once the former CEO of the company, Mr. Ballmer declared that "Linux is cancer".
Microsoft suggests four alternatives installation methods: via Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), Bare metal Linux, or in Virtual Machine (VM) to run Linux locally or to install in the cloud.
- Use the install Linux command with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
- Create a Linux Virtual Machine (VM) in the cloud
- Create a Linux Virtual Machine (VM) on your local machine
- Create a bootable USB to install bare-metal Linux
Essentially, however, the methods proposed by the company are two, since version 2 of WSL is a VM.
So the options come down to bare metal or in a VM which can run locally or in a virtual cloud system.
