Patch Tuesday KB4088776: The new cumulatives updates of Windows 10 that Microsoft released in March 2018 for the “Fall Creators Update” are probably not that stable.
Update KB4088776 which would bring fixes security (and non-security) in the systems that use the functional by Microsoft, proves once again that it comes with a number of problems on some computers.
The publications in the company forums show a new update fails to install, as many users report error 0x80070002 before the changes take effect, and when the system restarts they see the update as uninstalled.
As is the case every month, it's not clear what exactly is causing these issues, but one user reported trying to do a clean installation of Windows 10, to no avail. The specified updates could not be installed.
At this point it is difficult to estimate how common this error is, but the more users who install this cumulative update, the better the chances of identifying the error in the code.
For now, Microsoft recommends installing cumulative updates as soon as possible.
