The Perseverance rover is constantly sending us amazing sights and sounds of Mars. His latest video is the most exciting ever.
NASA has released an interactive 360-degree panorama of the red planet, recorded by Perseverance Mastcam-Z stereo imaging system.
The space agency says the 2,4-billion-pixel image is a composite of 992 separate images of the Van Zyl Overlook. The photos were taken between April 15 and 26 while Perseverance was waiting helicopter Ingenuity to complete its first flights to Mars.
The Perseverance image, however, was taken earlier and added to give a better impression of the scale and perspective on the rover side.
NASA also added a recording of the Mars winds, to give a more complete intuitive experience of the conditions prevailing on the planet.
You can explore the landscape yourself in two different ways (video and image).
Navigate the stage through its controls image, zooming in or out, or dragging the cursor around the image.
One of the highlights can be seen in the Ingenuity shots at Wright Brothers Field where he flew the helicopter and the Jezero crater, which scientists believe once contained water.
