Pidgin is a chat program that lets you connect to your accounts on multiple networks chat at the same time. This means you can chat with friends in XMPP and watch an IRC channel at the same time, or chat on Facebook Messanger.
Pidgin is running at Windows, Linux and other UNIX-like operating systems. Looking for Pidgin for OS X? Try it Adium!
Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks: Jabber / XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE and Zephyr. It can support many more networks with addons. Virtually the app can connect you to any existing chat network as long as you add it suitable addon (plugin).
The Pidgin application is constantly evolving. Traffic is usually frequent and comes from user contributions such as bug reports and updates in the code.
Pidgin is free and has no ads. All of our code is open source and available under GNU General Public License. This means that you can download the Pidgin code and modify it according to your needs, as long as you publish the changes you made to benefit everyone.
