The extension of Google Chrome, Overlay Blocker offers you a solution for these overlay ads. Adds an option to its right click menu browser context to close all overlay ads on a page.

There is another similar extension, BehindTheOverlay, also available for Google Chrome. It supports the exact same feature but with shortcuts of your keyboard. To use it press Ctrl-Shift-X and the overlay ad will be removed automatically.
