The PortableApps is one of the projects I have been following for many years. The project is constantly evolving, with regular updates to which new applications are added.
So an idea started in 2004 to create a portable version of it Mozilla Firefox, today it has reached version 21.2.1 which contains 400+ portable apps (47GB) with over one billion downloads.
If you're not familiar with them, mobile apps (Portable Apps), is the raison d'être of the PortableApps project. These are versions of certain programs that do not need to be installed on a system to run. Instead, thanks to its monolithic architecture, the executable has all the necessary configuration files, so that it can be used on any computer without installation.
The PortableApps project has a wide range of portable applications that you can simply insert into a USB stick.
With USB, you can use your favorite applications on any computer.
All the apps it has on PortableApps are free. Here we should mention that PortableApps does not contain pirated software on its platform, although on thenetwork almost all commercial applications are released in portable versions.
But in the list of applications contained in its pages, you will find many free alternatives that do not require installation.
