While the institution Mozilla tries to integrate the E10S multi-process architecture into the Firefox which is a precondition for filtering the browser, add-ons developers seem to have just overtaken them.
The new add-on του Firefox, Priv8 προσθέτει sandboxed καρτέλες στο πρόγραμμα περιήγησης σας, χρησιμοποιώντας το μοντέλο ασφαλείας του Firefox OS. Σας επιτρέπει να εκτελέσετε καρτέλες σε ένα sandbox that separates the data from the rest of the browser and the other tabs. Please note that the add-on is released as a PoC for now.
The add-on works by creating sandboxes and assigning domains to them. The sandbox works automatically, and does not insert new features into the browser.
The first thing to do after installing the Priv8 add-on is to create one or more sandboxes. This is done by clicking on the extension icon on your browser's main toolbar.
Click to create a new sandbox, and add a name and a color. Once the sandbox is created, add the URL you want to connect to.
An interesting option is that you can create multiple sandboxes that use the same address. Sandboxes do not share data like cookies, and can be used to access σε όσους λογαριασμούς θέλετε στην ίδια ιστοσελίδα, without problems.
If you have two Gmail accounts, you can both connect and use them at once (although this is without the add-on if you know the way).
You can distinguish sandboxes from their color. They appear on the active tab when you move your mouse over any deactivated tab that is sandboxed.
Priv8 is a very interesting add-on that highlights how powerful Firefox APIs are to develop add-ons. It is, of course, too early to say whether the add-on protects or secures the browser and its data, but since it separates the data is on the right track.
