As Suhei Yoshida, its senior executive, reports in a blog post companys, Sony Computer Entertainment's Project Morpheus prototype features a head-worn display with 1080p resolution and a 90-degree field of view. Accelerometer and gyroscopes which are integrated into the system monitor the movements of the user's head, in combination with the Playstation Camera.
“As your head rotates, the image of the virtual world also rotates in real time. Also, Project Morpheus features our new 3D audio technology which recreates stereoscopic soundin all directions, and it changes in real-time based on the orientation of your head,” notes Yoshida, adding that Project Morpheus works with the Dual Shock 4 Wireless Controller and PlayStation Move to provide an easy, plug-and-play play virtual reality experience.
