The anonymous connection to thenetwork it's vital if you want to keep your activity hidden and protected from targeted attacks. The solution is a VPN, which can also help overcome various online challenges, such as country blocking and throttling your ISP, to censorship of your government.
Virtual private networks (VPNs) improve privacy by encrypting your internet traffic and routing it through a secure server. Using a VPN is simple, but requires some payment. There are also some free ones but each one has some limits, either in data volume per month, or in speed.
A worthy and free one is the Windscribe, which we introduced to you earlier, but has a data volume limit of 10GB per month once you sign up. Personally it is enough for me but it is not always the right solution for all users.
If it doesn't do it for you, the ProtonVPN has a free VPN, which has no volume limit but a speed limit. But even with these speed limits it's pretty fast, and if you don't want to pay it's a good solution.
ProtonVPN has limits
- A device
- Three connecting countries (Netherlands, America and Japan)
- Download speed: Around 40 Mbps
- Upload Speed: Around 10 Mbps
The speed will depend firstly on your own speed and secondly on the server you will connect to. We recommend connecting to a server closer to your physical locations, although this will depend, to some extent, on whether you're trying to unlock geo-restricted content.
However ProtonVPN says its free version has average speed, whatever that means. You should do enrollment which is free and then download their app (available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, Chromebook, Android TV).
Install it, give it again data sign up and you're good to go. According to their own statement, it has no logs and ads.
